Camp STEEL 2009 Part 1
On 26/8/2009, its our Camp STEEL, a camp for Part B (Sec 2) NCC cadets, compared to Camp FEAST which is for Sec 1s. At about 7.30a.m. we met up at school and boarded the bus to HQ NCC, at Amoy Quee Camp. When we reached there, it sures bring back memories of last year's Camp FEAST, which was held at the same place. We had our bags checked and we were split up into different platoons with other schools. I was placed in Platoon 3, with 2 other of my classmates and 3 other from my neighbouring class. I was also in the same platoon with 1 Primary school classmate. After that we placed our stuffs in our bunk.We then went to the multi-purpose hall for some talks by one of the officers. Basically he was talking about some ways to become a good leader and successor. It was quite a boring talk but still, I paid full attention as a respect and wrote down notes. Anyway what the talk said is true, it made sense. There was no such talks in last year's Camp FEAST, it is meant for Part Bs only. After that we went for lunch, the food was rather nice, I managed to finish up everything. After that we went for the orienteering talk, which was also absent in Camp FEAST. Basically they talked how to read maps (like recapping what we learnt in Geography lessons). We then got to walk uphill, downhill or flat ground to count our paces. We were then supposed to go to our obstacle course, what unfortunately, it was cancelled due to stupid weather, what a pity! We then went to some room for some talks where we were supposed to introduce yourselves. After that, we went to the MPH again for some talks again by the same officer. After finishing the talks, we went for dinner. The dinner was some noodles, the difference was that we got to see the Muslims break fast and ate with us.After dinner, we went to the MPH again for the survival quiz where we were given a scenario and had to arrange the items needed for survival according to level of importance. I was embarrassed to say that our group did very badly.we then went to the auditorium for some military movies. The movie was very boring as I did not really understand but the good thing was that I got to enjoy the air-con, very cooling...After that, we had our supper and went to sleep. The sleep was terrible! Though with spongy beds and a pillow, I still could not sleep at all! Guess I was not used to it. I only slept for 5 hours...To be continued...Labels: camp, NCC, part 1

National C Division Hockey Finals 2009
On Wednesday the 12 August 2009, we went to the Sengkang Stadium to watch the C division hockey finals. The finalist were my school, Victoria School, and Teck Whye Secondary School. Actually, I did not want to go there AT ALL! That was because my Chinese teacher had given us lots of homework to be handed up the next day and some more got 听写! Yes! Three chapters! The next day too! Some more our Maths teacher (a trainee teacher) got freakingly pissed off with some of us, not me! Purposely give us so much Maths homework to be handed up on the next day! Knowing we already got sooo much homework to do! I told myself: If I went, I would have no time for homework and had tuition at night and maybe it will be very boring too but if I pwn I will get punished by my assistant form teacher, who FORCED us to go. In the end, afraid of being punished, I decided to go.After I boarded the bus and arrived at Sengkang Stadium. We took a sit each. Due to the hot weather and the boring match played by the girls, we felt thirsty so we decided to go to the nearby Mc Donald to have some food and drink and maybe to escape the hot sun. After we had our food, we went back to the stadium, the girls had just finished their match. Soon, it was our turn. When our school team stepped onto the field, I saw my own classmate there too, he is in the school hockey team. Finally the match starts, all Victorians including me and my classmates started cheering for our school team. After about maybe 20 minutes, a loud cheer was heard, our team had just scored a goal! I felt relieved for a while. When the second half of the match started, we changed sides. Soon, a penalty was awarded to our opponents. We were rather nervous. But still, the bad thing happened, they scored a goal and our scored was equalised! At that moment I started worrying. Luckily we managed to score another goal, which cheer was also as loud as the first one. When it reached the full time, we burst into a series of cheer! Our school won! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS FOR HOCKEY! This was the first time since 1992. I feel proud of the school and the team. At last at the prize presentation, our team got the goal medal each and a trophy. The journey back home was even more unforgettable. My classmates and I walked all the way from Sengkang Stadium to Compass point which is quite far away, we were stupid enough not to take the LRT. We walked rounds around the area which took about thirty minutes! When we finally reached the place, we said goodbye to some of them taking different buses. Me and two other classmates, one of them is an expert in buses, took bus number 87 to Bedok, which took about one hour. On the bus, the time was almost 8p.m, I called my father telling him I could not make it on time for tuition, my father finally agreed. YES! I told myself, can pwn tuition! Now have time to do homework! After I reached Bedok interchange, I took bus number 222 home. When I arrived home, it was already 8.30p.m, I rushed through all my homework and learnt my 听写. By the time I completed them, it was already 10.30p.m, I bathe and finally went to sleep. What an unforgettable day for me!Labels: bus, hockey, homework
