My NCC badges and rank...(updated)
After a patient long wait of 6-7 months, on 10 July 2009, which was yesterday, we finally received our Lance Corporal rank, together with 2 other badges (Napfa badge (bronze) and Total Defence badge (bronze))!
While we were having our Speech Day Full Dress Rehearsal, our teacher-in-charge suddenly called us up to the amphitheatre. There, I saw our ranks and badges lying on the steps, I thought: Yes! We finally can get our rank and badges, no need to be looked down by other schools or our classmates from NPCC as a Private! Soon our teacher-in-charge told us sign on a paper to verify and then fall in. He then started distributing our ranks one by one. After everyone had gotten their ranks (too bad for those who did not turn up, they are still Privates), our teacher-in-charge then told us to collect our badges one by one. After gotten all our stuffs, our teacher told us to get our ranks sewed by Monday. Then we realised that we did not get our 1-star kayaking badge. They told us that it was out of stock. For me I went to the army shop near my house to get my rank sewed as sewing myself is freakingly difficult and might turn out ugly. That day was a good day for me as I was no longer a Private! But still I am looking forward to more achievements in NCC!
